A group of 10 teens had an unforgettable experience working alongside professional chef and restaurant owner, Angela Verrastro, to learn the art of making Spaghetti Bolognese from scratch. From chopping fresh ingredients to simmering the perfect sauce, each teen had the chance to gain hands-on culinary skills in a fun and engaging environment.
We were incredibly lucky to host this class in the stunning Orson Gygi Kitchen, where every teen had their own stove and countertop to cook alongside Chef Angela.

The space, filled with the rich aroma of garlic and tomatoes, buzzed with excitement as everyone measured, stirred, and tasted their creations.
Beyond just cooking, this class was about confidence, creativity, and connection. It was a chance for these teens to try something new, work as a team, and enjoy the rewarding process of making (and eating!) a delicious homemade meal.
Thank you: A huge thank you to Angela Verrastro for sharing her expertise, to our volunteers for making the evening run smoothly, and to everyone who participated! Moments like these remind us how powerful food can be in bringing people together. We can’t wait to host more cooking classes and community events in the future—stay tuned for what’s next!
