We had over 115 teens spend the day with us. It is the most beautiful, diverse, inclusive group of teens and volunteers. It made the countless hours of prep worth it to see teens laughing, connecting, and so genuinely excited. One volunteer overheard a teen say, “This is literally the best day of my life.”
So many teens loved the basketball court, pool table, and ping-pong championships—thank you to Katie + Stringham Family for opening their hearts and home to us.
Numerous kids shared sentiments about seeing the rainbow flag out front (and pronouns on name tags) and how relieved they feel being in a safe, validating space with other adults and kids.
Parents/guardians/CASAs sharing heartfelt gratitude to have a diverse space where their teens could connect with others who know and relate to similar, lonely lived experiences.
We had dozens of INCREDIBLE volunteers show up for these kids- lead games, hand out gifts, serve food, help prep and clean-up. Thousands of community members raised money and donated items to enable us to gift 145+ teens with $50 worth of gift cards, stockings full of surprises, books, shoes, hair items, large connection kits (games, baking items, movie nights), a raffle where 25+ teens won really neat gifts. Five local restaurants helping us provide an incredible feast.
It was an unbelievable day. Thank you to everyone who made it what it was!
