"I can make friends with a group of people who I know are safe and understand a little of what I've gone through as an adopted child through foster care, a sibling of a brother who was adopted as a 10 year old with special needs and trauma, and I'm an intersex member of the LGBTQIA community who is put into political spotlight and doesn't even have bathrooms to use without people flipping out. I know that people there get me."
